Starting Point
Things to think about before you start
How much time do you have? What is the legal situation? Can someone help you? And most importantly: What do you want to find out? This short intro will help you sort your ideas – if haven’t done so yet.
Target group
Who will answer your survey questions?
You can go ask people on the street, knock on doors or send the questionnaire to all your email and social media contacts. Defining your target group is one of the most important decisions before doing a survey. Here you find pros and cons for each approach.
The basic questionnaire
How to use it
We have designed a short ready-made basic questionnaire about FGM.
Here we explain how to use it: Why you need to ask certain questions and how you can alter the ready-made questionnaire for your purposes.
Target Group Men
Men have a say, so ask them
In nearly all studies on FGM women are surveyed– naturally you might say. However, men are also affected by FGM – at least indirectly. They can influence decisions and they can be a decisive factor in public debate. It would be interesting to know what they think.
